Microsoft Access Field Properties – Decimal Places

Decimal Places

Field properties are where you fine tune the table.  The data type provides general information about the type of data that a field is going to contain and in the properties is where you define it more exactly.

This property only applies to number fields. You can define the number of decimal places
that are displayed on the number. If the field is used in calculations, the complete number is
used, not how it is displayed. The default value is Auto (where it depends on the number)

the range of values is 0-15.
